Overall Role Purpose:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Program Management Office (PMO), ensuring consistent execution of high-quality, cutting-edge software solutions that drive innovation in the automotive industry.\
Top 3 Key Performance Objectives (KPOs):
1. Establish and Optimize the PMO Function
– Develop and implement a comprehensive PMO framework, including standardized processes, methodologies, and best practices for project planning, execution, and governance.
– Deliverable: Within the first six months, create and roll out a PMO charter, project management toolkit, and training curriculum to align all software development teams.
2. Drive Successful Program Delivery
– Lead cross-functional program teams, ensuring seamless coordination, effective risk mitigation, and timely delivery of software solutions
that meet or exceed quality standards and customer requirements.
– Result: Achieve a consistent on-time delivery rate of 90% or higher for all software programs, with no more than 5% of deliverables requiring rework due to quality issues.
3. Foster Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Alignment
– Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, development teams, suppliers, and customers.
– Deliverable: Implement a comprehensive stakeholder communication and reporting structure, providing regular updates on program status, risks, and dependencies to ensure transparency and alignment.
Additional Performance Objectives:
– Continuously improve PMO processes through data analysis, project audits, and lessons-learned sessions.
– Attract, develop, and retain top program management talent, fostering a high-performing and engaged team.
– Ensure effective resource allocation and financial management, delivering software programs within approved budgets.
– Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging collaboration and the adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications:
– 10+ years of proven success leading automotive software programs and PMO functions.
– Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and industry standards (ASPICE, etc.).
– Strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate effectively with development teams (mostly embedded software).
– Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
– Engineering degree required; Master’s preferred.
– Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum) are highly desired.
