Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter/Welder to join our fabrication team on our 2nd shift, 3 pm -2 am Mon-Thurs. with overtime on Fridays and/or Saturdays. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fitting and welding metal components according to project specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements.

Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and fit metal components accurately.

Have a full set of fitting tools including a grinder.

Weld metal components using various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.

Perform welding tasks according to welding codes and standards, ensuring weld quality and integrity.

Inspect welded joints and metalwork for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to specifications.

Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Collaborate with team members, including engineers and fabricators, to achieve project goals and deadlines.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding is preferred.

Proven experience as a FITTER with welding skills in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

Strong knowledge of welding techniques and processes, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding.

Experience with a variety of metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Ability to operate welding equipment safely and effectively.

Strong attention to detail and precision in metal fabrication and welding.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
