McLeod Health, a private, non-profit healthcare system, located in Florence, SC, is assisting Stokes Regional Eye Center, a very large private practice in Florence South Carolina to recruit a General Ophthalmologists to join this established practice opportunity. Stokes Regional Eye Center is an established practice with four Ophthalmologists in Florence, SC. Call will be 1:5.

This practice has been serving this area since 1938. With a service area of 1.7 million people, the incoming physician will gain an established patient base in no time! This position offers unique opportunity for a general Ophthalmologist with interest in glaucoma cases and surgery. There is very little competition in this large service area.

Practice Details

Large, renovated office with full staff located downtown Florence.

Employed position with Established practice.

Call 1:5 typically not called to hospital during call.

General Ophthalmologist with interest in Glaucoma and Cataract surgery

Affiliated with 2 large hospital systems.

Surgery on Site in their ASC

Follow ups seen on site at practice.

All updated equipment on site and full optometry store on site.

Stokes Regional Eye Center was established in 1938 by Dr. Julius 'Howard' Stokes, Sr., MD. Later joined by his three sons. Dr. Howard continued to provide the tradition of excellence in eye care and his contribution to the community is commemorated at Francis Marion University where the administration building bears his name. His oldest son, Dr. Hunter R. Stokes, Sr., MD is still very active in the community and has two sons in practice at SREC. Dr. J. Howard Stokes, Jr. also retired in the summer of 2001 after providing years of quality care to his patients followed in 2003 by his brother Dr. Parker Stokes.
