General description

This job description does not contain a finite overview of tasks and responsibilities, but covers the main responsibilities of this function. The QEHS Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality and environmental system within Sonoco Plastics B.V. The QEHS manager leads the quality assurance and quality control department. The QEHS Manager will ensure that products meet the required specifications and is ultimately responsible for the implementation of suitable quality controls, quality records and reports as required by ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14791, ISO 14001 and QSR 21 CFR 820. The QEHS Manager will act Management Representative and will represent management as appropriate towards governmental agencies, enterprises and other organizations. The QEHS Manager assists the plant team in achieving its safety goals of zero injuries and statutory compliance by taking ownership of the risk analysis and evaluation and by making sure that the annual action plan is prepared and completed.

Safety

At Sonoco Plastics BV every employee is:

Required to work according to Sonoco safety procedures and instructions.

Responsible for personal safety, safety of colleagues and to maintain a safe workplace.

Responsible to report (near miss) incidents immediately and responsible for taking care of the proper written settlement thereof.

Duties and responsibilities

Quality:

Shall act as Management Representative for ISO 13485 and QSR 21 CFR 820.

Shall work according to all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures associated with the position of QEHS Manager (see also quality document FB130).

Shall ensure that the QMS, remains in compliance with requirements set forth in ISO 9001, 13485, 14791 and QSR 21 CFR 820.

Shall draft, update, review, approve and issue quality documentation and will verify that quality documentation meets legal and regulatory requirements as well as the standards against which Sonoco Plastics BV is certified.

Shall take full responsibility for the management, maintenance and calibration of all measurement equipment on-site.

Shall provide, as required, when requested and as appropriate, regular and timely reports. E.g. Management Review report, monthly and quarterly analysis and report of quality KPI’s (CAPA’s, deviations, complaints, change requests).

Shall plan and conduct internal audits and supplier audits.

Shall promote and stimulate quality-oriented thinking in all interactions with staff.

Shall train staff regarding quality documentation, deviations, corrective/preventive actions as appropriate.

Shall delegate tasks and responsibilities to employees under its responsibility.

Shall plan and execute formal performance and appraisal meetings with direct reports at least annually.

Shall initiates a performance management interviews the immediate supervisor at least annually.

Environment:

Shall act as management representative for ISO 14001.

Shall report environmental incidents immediately to the local governmental agency (DCMR) as well as within Sonoco.

Shall prepare an annual Environmental action plan and shall coordinate and support execution of actions.

Shall ensure that the QMS, remains in compliance with requirements set forth in ISO 14001.

Shall draft, update, review, approve and issue quality documentation and will verify that quality documentation meets legal and regulatory requirements as well as the standards against which Sonoco Plastics BV is certified.

Health:

Shall act as Preventiemedewerker.

Shall be responsible for the Risk Analysis and Evaluation (RI&E), shall update the RI&E as appropriate and shall coordinate and support execution of actions.

Safety:

Shall develop an annual Safety Action Plan and shall coordinate and support execution of actions.

Shall report monthly safety KPI’s.

Shall investigate and report all safety (near miss) incidents.

Shall arrange safety training in accordance with legal requirements.

Skills, experience and behaviour

Has a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Has knowledge of the ISO standards 9001, 14001, 13485 and 14791. Knowledge of QSR 21 CFR 820 is a plus.

Is in possession of a Bachelor or Master degree.

Is a certified (lead) auditor.

Has good planning skills.

Is a positive thinker.

Enjoys working with inter disciplinary teams.

Is a persuasive interlocutor.

Has proven leadership experience.

Has excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English. Communication skills in German are a plus.
