Qualifications:
You should have the following qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Credit Controller either in an NBFC or a
freight forwarding company.
2. Strong understanding of the legal complexities of loans, payment plans, and interest
rates.
3. Proficiency in accounting and office software and the ability to reconcile complex
debtor accounts.
4. Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with difficult clients professionally.
5. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or mathematics.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Credit Controller, you will be accountable for the following responsibilities:
● Debt Collection: Implement strategies for collecting on overdue accounts in a manner
that ensures high customer retention and loyalty. Managing debt recovery processes
and negotiating payment plans with customers.
● Credit Risk Management: Assess and analyse new and existing customers'
creditworthiness. Adjust credit limits and terms of payment accordingly.
● Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports on the status of credit and
collections. Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity.
● Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with customers, both verbally and in
writing, to ensure prompt payment of invoices. Liaise with sales and customer service
teams to resolve outstanding queries.
● Process Improvement: Continuously seek to improve the credit control process to
reduce debtor days and improve cash flow.
Working hours are 9:30 am-6:30 pm Mon.-Sat. with 2nd and 4th Sat. off.
