IT Asset Manager

Silver Springs, Maryland

Responsibilities:

IT Asset Lifecycle Management: Lead initiatives for the procurement, deployment, tracking, and retirement of IT assets, focusing on maximizing value and aligning with our strategic goals.

Software Asset Management: Ensure software licensing compliance and manage the procurement and retirement processes, collaborating with stakeholders to meet our software needs efficiently.

Hardware Asset Management: Oversee our hardware asset inventory, focusing on deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning, ensuring cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.

ServiceNow Expertise: Utilize the ServiceNow platform for streamlined IT asset management, leveraging its capabilities for enhanced configuration management and incident tracking.

ITIL Practices: Implement ITIL best practices for Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM), aligning asset management processes with the ITIL framework to enhance service delivery.

Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring adherence to contracts and service level agreements, and evaluating performance for continuous improvement.

Purchase Order Management: Handle the creation, tracking, and auditing of purchase orders within ServiceNow, ensuring accurate and compliant procurement processes.

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).

Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Asset Management, with a strong focus on managing both software and hardware assets throughout their lifecycles.

Proficiency in ServiceNow for IT asset management, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience on this platform.

Certification in ITIL Foundation, with practical experience in applying ITIL practices within asset management.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.

Preferred:

Experience in managing third-party vendor relationships.

Familiarity or experience with ServiceNow's purchasing and order management functionalities.
