Job Summary:

The Communications Specialist will report to the Director of Digital Communications and play a crucial role in leading the organization's digital content strategy. Responsibilities include assisting in social media strategy development, overseeing video and photo production, creating engaging content for various platforms, generating creative marketing ideas, and fostering collaboration among internal teams. The role requires strong leadership skills, creative thinking, and a commitment to maintaining brand consistency, and excellence in content creation and execution.

Essential Duties and Functions:

Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop and implement a comprehensive digital content strategy aligned with organizational goals and audience engagement objectives.

Assist in leading the strategy for social media platforms, including content planning, content creation, audience targeting, and performance analysis.

Provide strategic guidance and recommendations for creative marketing ideas and campaigns to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

Oversee all aspects of video and photo production, including concept development, scripting, storyboarding, filming, editing, and post-production.

Coordinate with internal teams or external vendors to ensure high-quality production standards and timely delivery of visual content assets.

Maintain a library of visual assets and ensure brand consistency across all video and photo content.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and product, to ensure content aligns with brand messaging and campaign objectives.

Develop and implement content calendars, scheduling tools, and workflows to streamline content production and publication processes.

Act as a key contributor to brainstorming sessions and creative ideation meetings, bringing innovative ideas and concepts to the table.

Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on creative content development, messaging strategies, and storytelling techniques.

Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and industry innovations in digital content marketing and creative storytelling.

Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment, serving as a resource and mentor to team members involved in content creation and social media management.

Encourage creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the digital content team, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.

Coordinate with external partners, agencies, or freelancers as needed to augment internal capabilities and resources for content production and execution.

Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or other related area (or equivalent experience)

Minimum of two years experience in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations field

Knowledge of and experience in using multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest

Excellent written and verbal communication

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

Adobe InDesign

Adobe Premiere Pro or Apple’s Final Cut Pro (or comparable video editing software)

Microsoft PowerPoint

Adobe Photoshop

WordPress

Works well in a team setting and has the ability to build effective professional working relationships and foster internal and external collaboration on projects.

Thinks creatively, is highly motivated, detail-oriented and, highly organized, able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner with a high level of quality.

Maintains personal and professional growth and development through seminars, webinars, workshops, books, publications and professional affiliations to stay current with legal issues and the latest trends in the field.

Travels, when needed, to areas of service throughout the state, nation and developing world.

Displays integrity as well as mature judgment and presents him or herself outside the agency in a manner in keeping with the organization’s core beliefs and values.

Displays a positive attitude about and passion for the organization’s mission of providing Christ-centered services to children and families in need

Has knowledge of public relations best practices

Ability to maintain confidential employee and company information.

Ability to comprehend and process information rapidly and accurately.

Skills in effectively organizing work, files, records, etc., to maintain efficient work flow.

General knowledge of standard office practices and office equipment.

This job requires the ability to work in stressful conditions from time to time and remain focused for extended periods of time. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds (boxes, documents, and equipment).
