Restaurant Manager
Role Summary
Our Restaurant Managers are responsible for the supervision of the front of house staff including but not limited to Service, Bar and Hosts. Our leaders have a desire to achieve success through people, quality and hospitality. Responsible for the overall operation for their location and ensuring the integrity of VHG.
Responsibilities:
Establishes guest service and satisfaction as a priority through personal example
Assists the gm with recruiting, retaining, training and developing an optimum number of staff who are enthusiastically dedicated to delivering the highest level of hospitality to the guest
Assists the gm in achieving targeted budgets, goals and objectives
Assists the gm in community involvement programs and marketing runs
Assist the gm to ensure the profitability of restaurant operations by operating within cost of goods and labor productivity guidelines while providing quality food and exceptional service
Assists gm in controlling other direct operating expenses such as utilities, smallwares, etc., to minimize expense without adversely affecting operations
Manages others work safely by being alert and taking action regarding safety hazards
Respond to guest concerns, both written and verbal with the ability to creatively solve problems and develop robust solutions
Ensures that all daily restaurant paperwork is completed accurately and on a timely basis including but not limited to: daily sheets, payroll, purchase orders, employment-related forms, etc.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and update the team on all key business updates
Review reservations and communicate notes as well as special occasions
Assist with weekly staff schedules as directed by the General Manager
Place orders for liquor, beer and wine, and others as assigned
Ensure established standards of food safety, sanitation and quality are maintained
Ensure all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to company recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
Adheres to Disciplinary Action Requirement as set by the company.
Attend and participate in bi-weekly service manager or bar manager meetings, depending on your role.
Attend and participate in weekly manager meetings
Beverage Manager additional responsibilities;
Provide leadership, training, and support to bartenders on recipes, drink presentation, and batched cocktail recipe execution
Support the Bar’s repair and maintenance needs to keep all bar equipment in satisfactory working condition.
Provide clear, transparent, honest feedback to the team on performance measures.
Practice proper sanitation and safety at all times to stay in compliance with health department regulations to protect the health and welfare of our guests and co-workers.
Reviewing P-mix reports regularly to maintain product availability
Review LBW invoices for price variances and communicate any irregularities to the Director of Beverage
Responsible for ordering: Restaurant glassware, Bar tools and supplies, All liquor, beer, wine, miscellaneous bar consumables, as well as all non-alcoholic beverages for the restaurant
The Bar Manager will work alongside the kitchen manager to ensure the utilization of fresh fruits and vegetables for cocktails
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar garnish station before, during, and after the shift.
Ensure adherence to all local, state and federal laws and regulations
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
2+ years of full-service restaurant management experience
Flexibility to work nights and weekends
Results driven, trustworthy and team oriented
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
