How will I help?

As Treasury Manager, you will help us realize that by leading the Treasury team to provide exceptional customer service and foreign exchange and money market solutions to a broad range of Iocal and international Westpac Group and Institutional Bank customers for Westpac PNG’s business.

As the Treasury Manager, you will be marketing and transacting Westpac’s Treasury products and services individually and in coordination with the banks Treasury, International and Relationship staff. Dealing with customers, the professional market and internally to achieve our profit, risk management and people management objectives.

What are my key areas of focus?

• Develop investment strategies based on the bank's liquidity profile and available opportunities.

• Trade currencies to support financial market sales activities and achieve FX income targets.

• Handle interbank deals, particularly between Westpac branches in Sydney and Suva, using Reuters Direct Dealer platform.

• Manage foreign exchange, money market, and investment product exposures while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulatory requirements.

• Provide necessary information to regulatory bodies and internal functions within Westpac.

• Coordinate with Bank of Papua New Guinea (BPNG) and interbank foreign exchange market, handling orders and price requests.

• Act as secretary for the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO), preparing management information, circulating meeting packs, taking minutes, and following up on action items.

• Oversee and delegate responsibilities to dealers/senior dealers, ensuring accountability and performance.

• Develop strategic growth objectives and lead the team in executing agreed approaches.

What do I need?

You will be degree qualified with Finance, Economics / related discipline. You must have 5 - 7 years of experience working as a Treasury or Financial Markets Dealer with good understanding of treasury products and pricing. Expert knowledge and understanding of domestic and international financial markets and products. You must have FX risk management experience and expertise, inclusive of spot, forwards and swaps. Investment and interest rates expertise inclusive of overnight, Bills, Notes and Bonds as well as secondary market knowledge. Good knowledge of the regulatory environment.
