Underground Telecom Construction Laborer/Cable Puller/Groundman

Job Description

Now Hiring a Groundman/Underground/Telecom Construction Laborer/Cable Puller to pull cables underground, dig trenches, set vaults and assist with underground installations.

Job Duties:

· The upcoming projects will be based out of the SF Bay Area and hotel and per diem is offered for travelers. You will be able to go home on the weekends and work schedule is Monday - Friday

· Digging trenches, pulling fiber cables, cleaning bucket truck, preparing tools for lineman, and job site cleaning

· Assist with operating heavy equipment to trench, place duct, pull cable, and direct bury main-line and drops.

· Place, rearrange, and remove poles and lines.

· Pull fiber/copper/coax cable through existing duct package, pull cable through conduit either manually, blowing, or mechanically.

· Perform work across all divisions (underground, aerial, buried, fiber, copper, coax).

· Unreel, pull and string wire and cable from pole to pole.

· Safely operate Heavy Equipment

· Class A License/CDL a huge plus

· Locate & verify all utilities before construction.

· Maintain and/or repair our customer’s telecommunications facilities

· Be able to use cable placement equipment and tools

· Mixing concrete in wheelbarrows sing knowledge of concrete composition

· Conducting and marketing angle and section measurements based on blueprints

· Preparing surfaces using chose and hammer

· Pouring and spreading concrete using groovers and hand trowels

· Ensuring concrete dries properly through proper consideration of all factors that affect the

· drying process

· Be able to identify and troubleshoot problems.

· Have knowledge of the underground process.

· Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment, tools, and supplies.

· Adhere to strict safety standards while ensuring the highest quality of work is completed

· efficiently and timely.

· a boom truck, climb poles as needed, and utilize standard tools of the trade.

· Close a project by completing daily production sheets, verifying proper levels after activation, and adjust and troubleshoot as necessary.

· Knowledge in building strand, lashing/over lashing, pole transfers, vertical grounds, and building and repairing aerial telecommunication transmission lines required.
