Director of Engineering

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products. The Director of Engineering will be responsible for managing and growing the engineering team, driving technical strategy, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Essential Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Define and execute the technical roadmap in alignment with the company's strategic goals, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance of our products.

Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring on-time and within-budget project delivery.

Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to prioritize engineering initiatives and deliver high-impact solutions that meet customer needs.

Establish and maintain engineering best practices, standards, and processes to optimize productivity and quality across the organization.

Drive the recruitment and retention of top engineering talent, contributing to the growth and diversity of the team.

Manage engineering resources and budgets effectively, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to project timelines.

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence, promoting open communication and constructive feedback within the team.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to deliver integrated and cohesive solutions.

Identify and mitigate potential risks in software projects for successful outcomes.

Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, technical challenges, and milestones.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in the software development workflow.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

15+ years of relevant industry experience

Good experience in Java, React

Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP

Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations.
