SWBC is seeking a talented individual to oversee and manage the accounting, compliance, and regulatory functions for the Investment Services Division Broker/Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor operations as required by the SEC, FINRA and other regulatory agencies. Responsible for supervising the Investment Services accounting team, and interfacing with the senior management team providing insight and expertise for Broker/Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor operations and financial results.

Essential duties include the following:

Develops and maintains compliance programs, systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and self-regulatory regulations.

Supervises the staff and activities involved in the accounting, compliance, and regulatory functions for the Investment Services Division to include managing employee schedules and attendance, job performance, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining, time cards, and personnel related issues.

Act as the lead contact with outside vendors, including clearing/custody relationships, and private fund administrators, auditors, and tax preparers.

Provides accounting compliance support for the corporation’s licensed broker/dealer operations to include coordinating and overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of financial operations as required by FINRA and other regulatory agencies.

Performs research on all financial regulatory aspects for the broker/dealer and investment advisory operations for the company.

Monitors rules and record keeping requirements of the broker/dealer operation accounting and reporting.

Reviews compliance and risk management controls and recommends appropriate changes, as required.

May assist in drafting and updating written supervisory procedures required by FINRA and the SEC.

Continually evaluates the department structure and strategic plan, considering future growth. Promotes overall efficiency while maintaining a commitment to compliance standards and excellent service.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

MBA or CPA preferred.

Minimum of ten (10) years of Compliance, Legal, Banking and/or regulatory experience in the financial services industry.

FINRA Series 27 or 28 certification or obtain within sixty (60) days from date of employment.

Strong knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Strong knowledge of broker/dealer regulatory forms, including FOCUS reports, Form SSOI and Form Custody.

Strong knowledge of sales commission software such as Xtiva, preferred.

Strong knowledge of policies and procedures addressing internal controls and necessary broker/dealer compliance requirements.

Strong analytical skills, attention to details, and be able to multitask.

Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills.

Proficient in personal computers to include software applications such as automated on-line banking systems, MS Word, Excel, and the Internet.

Able to lift 10-20 lbs. of accounting reports, files, and other documents.

Able to sit for long periods of time gathering, updating, and validating accounting transactions.

Able to stoop, kneel, and stand to retrieve files.
