Virginia MetalFab is looking for a motivated and energetic individual to fill the role of Estimator.

WHO YOU ARE IN THIS ROLE

As a Estimator, you will analyze documents, including blueprints, specifications, proposals, etc. to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. You will review data, compute cost factors, prepare estimates, and consult with clients. In addition, you will provide timely quotes based on customer requests as well as handle all internal and external customer service for accounts.

Since then, we’ve diversified to provide fabrication and manufacturing services to companies in a wide range of industries. Today we manufacture metal parts and assemblies for a wide range of industry leaders in the energy, utilities, transportation, and technology industries.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Analyze documents such as blueprints, specifications, proposals, etc. to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for jobs.

Review data, compute cost factors, prepare estimates, and consult with clients.

Act as the point of contact by communicating with customers via written email and verbally over the phone.

Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success.

Develop positive relationships and handle customers’ needs.

Provide excellent customer service in both time and quality.

Maintain a high level of understanding of the customer’s requirements, design intent, and timelines.

Interact with engineering, purchasing, operations and production teams to obtain and provide information necessary to resolve issues and establish an accurate cost estimate of the product or project requested.

Identify processes needed to complete product or projects and determine compatibility to our capabilities.

Aid in the determination of the correct material, machines, labor, and process requirements.

Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management use in planning, manpower availability, materials, equipment utilization, tooling needs and product cost.

Aid in establishing setup and run rates and related cost data.

Adopt and incorporate quality methods.

SHIFT

Monday – Friday / 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Metal industry knowledge and/or fabrication industry experience required.

Customer service, sales, and estimating experience are beneficial for the position.

Strong computer skills in MS Suite and SolidWorks or a knowledge of 3D CAD.

Ability to type over 50 wpm.

Strong math skills.

Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.

Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
