Staff Accountant

Job Description

Local family owned business is looking for a full time Staff Accountant with experience in QuickBooks Online, Excel and a quickly scaling small business environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal Education in the accounting or related field, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

5 years of related experience in being the lead in a small business finance department.

Must be comfortable with Quickbooks online. Must know all QB modules including invoicing, estimating and creating reports as necessary.

Perform Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable functions, including reconciling bank accounts and posting, cash receipts, credit card processing, monthly delinquency reports, bill payment, and other QB reports as requested.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PAYROLL

Work with our Payroll service provider to complete bi-weekly payroll and prepare payroll reports.

Document vacation and sick leave reports for staff.

401K

Manage our 401k account working with our accounting firm on yearly audits and reconciliations.

TAX PREPARATION

Prepare 1099 tax documents

Prepare sales tax reports

Track and prepare state personal property tax reports

Work with our accounting firm annually in preparation of State and Federal tax documents.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Organizing, processing and making all payments on bills and invoices.

Managing 1099 invoices (tracking incoming invoices, allocating in expense reports, paying invoices)

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

Working with our Client Services Director on all AR. Providing weekly reports on status updates.

Keep up to date reconciliations of all accounts.

ADDITIONAL TASKS

Manage yearly insurance audits

Have high attention to detail and accuracy.

Corporate credit card tracking, organizing, and reconciling.

Develop and maintain systems. Both physical filing and digital.

Be willing to perform basic office tasks such as answering phones, talking with clients regarding overdue accounts and participating in office activities.

While a knowledge of event production is not essential, candidates with previous experience in the field are encouraged to apply.
