About Specialty Kraft Converters

Specialty Kraft Converters (SKC) is a privately owned domestic supplier of insulation vapor retarders and facings. We primarily supply residential building insulation manufacturers with printed and asphalt coated paper substrates in roll forms. SKC is currently seeking full-time Paper Rewind Station Operators to join our organization and man a station on our production line. The manufacturing plant schedule is 7AM – 7PM and 7PM – 7AM, 4 to 5 days per week. Ambient temperature could be 95 – 100F during summer months.

What We Offer You

· $19.25/HOUR to start (PLUS $.75 Night Shift Differential) $20.00/HOUR NIGHT SHIFT to start

· $22.10/HOUR after probationary period (minimum 90 days) dependent upon progress.

· Night shift differential is $.75/HOUR.

· OT calculated after 8 hours worked daily

About the position

The Paper Rewind Station Operator is a starting position with the company. New employees typically work a few weeks on our day shift to train before transitioning to night shift. New employees are trained to operate our Rewind Stations and work in a support role of the production machine operator while processing wound rolls of coated Kraft paper materials and laminations. Candidates with experience operating Slitter Rewinders or Coating Machinery are preferred and urged to apply.

The work requires physical exertion, the ability to learn and follow instructions, a keen eye for safety, some mechanical ability and a positive attitude. We are a company of dedicated individuals with a sense of urgency who will do whatever is required to supply our valued customers.

About the typical workday

You will keep busy processing rolls of paper finished goods and materials, helping to unload the materials from the machine, cleaning up, changing over to other width products and doing what it takes to keep the equipment running. There are periods of down time and intense periods of work. Staying busy is a key attribute to help balance the workflow.

Qualifications

We will train you to operate our automated rewind stations and, although experience is preferred, it is not an absolute necessity. You will likely be trained to operate various stations of our main production machine progressively. The job requires some heavy lifting (up to 70lbs.), the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, reach, stretch, twist and squat. Excellent communication skills and general proficiency with computers are required to manage the process. You must be able to read both a standard and metric tape measure and use it accurately.
