Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in HVAC/R field from an accredited college or university and five years of design, installation, and maintenance experience in the HVAC/R field. (Teaching experience in HVAC/R may be substituted for HVAC/R field experience); (or) Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational and or Technical Education, Occupational Education from an accredited college or university, or HVAC/R, and two years of design, installation, and maintenance experience in the HVAC/R field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Career and/or Technical Education, as well as an Associate’s Degree in HVAC/R plus some field experience. (Teaching experience in HVAC/R may be substituted for HVAC/R field experience)

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: This vacancy announcement is to identify skilled instructors of modern HVAC/R processes who may be called upon to teach introductory or advanced theory and hands-on HVAC/R courses of the Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration degree program.

Coursework will be assigned by the Department Chairperson as per program needs.

The instructor reports to the Department Chair of Applied Technologies and performs the following duties:

• Provide instruction in HVAC/R.

• Evaluate student performance.

• Participation on departmental, division wide, and college wide committees for the purpose of building community and fulfilling aspirations of professional development is encouraged and supported.

• At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.

The Salary is $1,340.00 per contact hour.
