Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and talented engineer who will join our R&D team to lead the commercialization of ReCarbon’s plasma reforming Emission Blade and commercial modules.

This position requires a person with a diversified set of skills in control, engineering, technical writing, root cause analysis, as well as written and oral communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and implementation of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for the control of industrial and scientific instrumentation in a research and/or industrial setting

Design, implement, and maintain data storage infrastructure for PLC-recorded test data

Design, implement, and troubleshoot control schemes for non-linear systems

Select and evaluate sensor technologies and manufacturers for the measurement of physical and chemical properties

Update and maintain PLC control system hardware including I/O modules, wire harness, cabling

Create and maintain documentation for control system, including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and operational manuals

Serve as liaison between R&D and Engineering/Product Development teams for technical support and transitioning prototype designs to commercial designs

Skills and Qualifications:

BS/MS degree in a relevant engineering discipline,

5+ years of relevant industry experience in applicable industries designing, implementing, and programming PLC devices

Proficient in RSLogix or similar Ladder Logic programming language

Proficient in AutoCAD

Knowledge in industrial electrical power distribution

Understanding of digital and analog sensors and their integration into a control scheme

Experience with implementation of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) for control of equipment in a research setting

Experience with infrared, ramen, and electrochemical sensors a plus

Working knowledge of multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency generators, current and voltage probes, RF power meters and sensors a plus

Knowledge and experience microwave systems (waveguides, magnetrons, circulators, tuners) a plus

Experience with SQL a plus

Experience with python, R, and other scripting/visualization/business intelligence tools a plus

Experience with plasma is a plus

Cross industry experiences in refinery/pharmaceuticals and semiconductor /solar a big plus

Location: Fremont, CA

Travel requirement: Up to 30%, domestic and international
