If you are as passionate about caring as you are about gardening, along with enjoying shopping and having a coffee and a slice of cake then you may be the ideal Carer for our kind, positive client who is looking for a live-in Carer to provide companionship, motivation and structure to her daily routine. If you think you would be a good fit, get in touch, interviews are being booked shortly.

Position: Live In Carer (1 week on/1 week off)

The Role:

Our client is a 56-year-old lady who has an Acquired Brain Injury and is looking for someone to provide live-in support in her ground-floor adapted home. She has children that live close by and will have regular visits from her grandchildren.

Our client is verbal and quite high functioning so can budget and buy herself food and other things she likes with a level of autonomy and independence. She has some memory loss due to her brain injury which she manages but will need assistance and support with reminding about her appointments and when to take her medication.

She is a wheelchair user and can move herself in her wheelchair independently. Personal care is required. Our client uses a urethral catheter so experience in this area would be useful, although not essential as full training will be provided.

Full training in all aspects of our client’s support will be given and you will be supported by her Case Manager to work towards her rehabilitation goals.

About You:

You will ideally have experience supporting someone with an Acquired Brain Injury and/or previously worked in a Support Worker role.

On occasions, as would be expected, our client can become a little anxious and impatient so you would need to have a patient, calm and empathic personality.

You will provide a supportive approach to our client by following her Care plan and helping her achieve her rehabilitation goals.

You will be organized, positive and reliable and able to build a rapport whilst providing motivation and structure to our client’s day.

You will be able to follow guidance provided as well as use your own initiative in everyday situations.

You will be a driver (over the age of 21 for insurance purposes) who is happy to take our client out on trips and medical visits in her automatic vehicle.

Pay: £950 (gross) per week.

Hours / Shifts:

You will work a 12-hour-a-day shift for 7 days on either a one-week on/one week off or two week on/two-week off basis, sleeping also at our client’s home during the weeks you are working. On non-working weeks you will need your own accommodation.

You may be required to assist her during the night.

You will have a break of a couple of hours during the day at a time to be mutually agreed with our client.
