Bid Estimator/Inside Sales Associate

Municipal Supply, Inc. (MSI) is looking for an Estimator for our Wichita, KS location. For 50 years MSI has provided quality parts and services for our customers in the water and waste-water industry. If you are seeking a permanent, full-time position, can read blueprints and plan sets, have knowledge of lift station/pump house projects, have a strong working knowledge of water and sewer supplies than MSI is right for you.

Responsibilities:

Completes and distributes detailed and itemized material quotes to owner or contractor.

Determines accurate quantities and related materials as measured from provided plan sets.

Researches plans and specifications to determine any special material requirements.

Communicates with the design engineer or owner to clarify any unusual or special material issues.

Determines if supplied materials meet local/state/federal specifications.

Receives and prepares orders from telephone and walk-in customers daily for inside sales.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Strong professional communication skills.

Knowledge and experience in wastewater lagoons, lift stations and pump housework.

Ability to read blueprints and plan sets.

Strong data analysis skills and techniques for resolving missing/incomplete information.

Able to work independently or as a team.

Knowledge of SAGE100 ERP and ON Center software helpful but not required.

Preferred 3+ years’ experience reading plans in the waterworks industry.
