QUALIFICATIONS FOR A VALVE SHOP SUPERVISOR

The Shop Supervisor plans and coordinates work schedule, implements company policies and procedures, recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions, and supervises valve shop employees in a manufacturing environment while dealing with the many aspects of rebuilding industrial safety, line and control valves. As well as the assembly and testing of new valves.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

Direct supervision of 10 - 25 valve shop workers who will;

Disassemble, identify and remanufacture select valve parts

Build, test and calibrate (when capable) valve and actuator assemblies

Learn order system and analyze data to effectively issue and schedule work orders, while balancing multiple demands.

Set and monitor performance standards for departmental employees (quantitatively and qualitatively) and coordinate annual reviews.

Coordinate developmental and training processes.

Accountable for positive team performance and Quarterly Monthly Reports.

Has the ability to work closely with all managers, technicians, and inventory control.

Occasionally talks to customers regarding any questions/problems that might arise.

Conduct spot checks out at the job site.

Assist at the job site, when needed.

Maintains tooling, machines, calibration of equipment and consumables.

Maintains shop trucks and driver qualifications.

Schedules and conducts safety training for all shop employees.

Audits and reviews payroll, per diem, and credit card receipts.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1 year of frontline supervision in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Education.

Very mechanically inclined.

Experienced with common mechanical tools.

Able to read and interpret technical literature and drawings.

General PC use in Microsoft windows.

Self-motivated and detail oriented.

Preferred Experience & Aptitude:

Ability to work under pressure and a high sense of urgency.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.

Overtime occasionally required.
