The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications/resumes for a Mental Health Clinician - part-time.

We are seeking Mental Health Clinicians for our In-Community Program to work in the community in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to assist children, youth and families facing emotional and behavioral challenges.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic urban, growing organization just 5 miles west of New York City in the water front city of Perth Amboy. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility.

Under the supervision of the Director of Mental Health Services, The Mental Health Clinician will utilize evidenced based therapeutic practice to address youth and family difficulties including mental health, emotional regulation, self-esteem, socialization, communication, interpersonal skills and family relationships. The Mental Health Clinician will conduct youth and family intakes, assessments, create and implement treatment and behavioral plans.

This is a part-time, nonexempt position. Requires a minimum of 10 face to face client hours per week.

A. Experience:

Previous work with children and families.

B. Education/Certification

Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related field.

Active NJ State Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or Marriage & Family License. (LAC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, PhD)

Current driver’s license, auto insurance with excellent driving record.

Obtain and successfully pass criminal background check via fingerprinting

C. Skills:

Utilization of Electronic Health Record System

Knowledge of evidence-based modalities for therapy and treatment.

Reliable and punctual with ability to complete independent tasks while being part of the collaborate team and effort.

D. Interpersonal Skills:

Excellent verbal & nonverbal communication across diverse populations.

Exemplary cultural competence.

Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Familiar with the culture and mission of the organization
