Responsibilities:

- Review, analyze, and present waste audit data

- Research and design recycling programs for specific industries

- Implement programs onsite in collaboration with Project Managers and customer representatives

- Create educational training programs and awareness initiatives

- Participate in industry tradeshows and conferences

- Audit, analyze, and report on new program results

- Communicate effectively with clients to discuss recycling programs and obtain permission for diversion programs

- Work independently while staying in contact with the Project Manager

In the role of Sustainability Manager, you will be tasked with supporting designated customers in driving waste reduction strategies, policies, programs, and initiatives. Leveraging your expertise, you will contribute to waste management activities and apply best practices to benefit both government and commercial clients. Collaborating closely with site leadership as a business partner to our customers, you will play a pivotal role in establishing policies, setting the direction for execution, and reporting monthly progress towards set goals. Your responsibilities will encompass reviewing, analyzing, and presenting waste audit data, researching and designing recycling programs tailored to specific industries, implementing programs onsite in collaboration with Project Managers and customer representatives, creating educational training programs and awareness initiatives, participating in industry tradeshows and conferences, and auditing, analyzing, and reporting on the results of new programs. Strong customer service skills are essential, including effective communication with busy clients and end-users to discuss recycling programs and obtain permission for diversion programs. You should demonstrate persistence, respectfulness, and tact in your approach, be able to work independently while maintaining contact with the Project Manager, and handle any other assigned tasks.

Requirements:

- Proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, speaking)

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a multicultural environment

- Master's degree from a reputable university with a focus on Sustainability, Environment, Business, and Marketing

- Demonstrated successful implementation skills, including diplomacy, tact, and perseverance

- Results-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in customer service or customer-related activities

- Minimum 3 years of experience in waste management, recycling, or food composting

- Ability to obtain security clearance for accessing customer facilities

- Knowledge of local recycling facilities, landfills, WTE facilities, etc.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
