Estimator – Commercial Roofing and Building Envelope

A commercial roofing and restoration contractor is looking to bring on an Estimator with a focus on Building Envelope Restoration. The position comes with a base salary depending on experience, bonuses, health benefits, and matching 401k.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Handle estimating functions, to include bids, pricing, and change orders.

Meet and collaborate with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand the products being developed.

Re-enforce our value proposition and strengthen relationships with owners, contractors, suppliers, and new customers.

Maintain and grow client portfolio of opportunities with new and existing customers.

Attend pre-bid meetings.

Analyze project specifications and drawings to compile project notes, RFI’s, and scope development.

Review and analyze existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials; identifies cost-reduction opportunities.

Draft and develop detailed proposals and cost estimates for BER projects based on data analysis and research; distributes reports to project managers, engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.

Prepares reports forecasting production scenarios; makes recommendations based on findings.

Work with Project Managers to perform project handoffs, resolve disputes with clients, and help resolve past due accounts efficiently.

Identify opportunities within the estimates to outperform estimated cost and coordinate with the project management and production teams.

Participate in job completion financial analysis, track performance metrics and bid results.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 1 year experience and knowledge of project managing / estimating in Building Envelope Restoration.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create forecasts based on financial data.

• Ability to analyze specifications and drawings.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
