Operational Packhouse Supervisor - fresh produce retail

A well-established retail and wholesale company in fresh produce, meat and groceries, based in Kempton Park, is recruiting an Operational/Technical/Packhouse/Receiving Supervisor. Duties & Responsibilities Role:

Oversee production management activities

Oversee daily packing requirements

Overseeing and managing stock control (FIFO) in cold rooms

Combined role of assisting with receiving daily stock deliveries for Fresh Department. Responsibilities:

Manage production activities according to production targets

Working alongside Packhouse employees to supervise and motivate

Improving and verifying daily records relating to production performance and food safety

Ensuring strict adherence to all food Safety protocols on a daily basis for cleaning production lines

Ensuring a hygiene system is implemented, maintained and continually improved in accordance with the requirements with the guideline and assistance from the Fresh Department

Report any production related quarries to Management Representative

Supervise Packhouse independently

Supervise and manage stock rotation (FIFO)

Dual role as assisting dedicated receiver of incoming stock (verifying quantities ordered with invoice, correct details on invoice, SBD, Bar Codes and communicating any discrepancies)

Ensure a clear communication between relevant personal is established

Identify training needs

Provide human resources. Requirements: Matric, and a tertiary qualification will be an advantage. A track record of fresh produce or FMCG stock movement and administration is advantageous. Experience with post-harvest handling of fresh produce will be an advantage. Must be computer literate, advanced managerial skills, must be diligent, accurate, and have above average communication and interpersonal skills. Willing to work over weekends.
