Position Description – Sr. Logistics Specialist

I. Position Summary

Purpose: To manage the Project Logistics for safe & successful deliveries of the Project Material to global sites including customs clearance & License and trade compliance, Contract Management, and People management.

Nature and Scope: This position is primarily responsible for ensuring safe delivery to the global project sites and providing support for Global regions (US, China, UK, and Mideast) for the Integrated Gases opportunities and the Global opportunities supporting the Capital (engineering, equipment, and materials) areas. As such, the incumbent will be responsible for managing various shipments (Local and Global) being required for the execution of Capital projects.

Job Description: Sr. Logistics Specialist

Experience in planning and executing logistic activities for mid to large-size EPC projects.

Complete & Sound Knowledge of customs activities like Advance License, EPCG, EOU, and Duty paid shipment clearance.

Having experience in ODC / OWC shipment movements (sea/road transport) with the execution of large capital incentive projects.

Incumbent should also be aware of Global transportation (Air and Sea shipping) norms.

Should be familiar with and have hands-on experience in exporting and Re-exporting shipments

Maintaining the report/record of shipping bills with export documents.

Should have a robust knowledge of Global / Local CHA and Freight Forwarder agents, and shipping liners, and having experience in making contractual agreements with global Terms and Conditions

Communication with instructions & coordination with service providers like CHA, Freight forwarders, etc.

Communication & coordination with Suppliers/customers on the movement of shipment for pick up's with ETA.

ERP documentation on shipments exported

Duty calculation & Duty request planning

Monitoring Shipment tracker with DSR & ensuring OTD from service providers.

Monitoring Shipment cost calculation & cost-saving plans

Follow up's on Service provider’s bills & timely handing over to finance for payment.

Verifying the applicable HSN codes & exemptions. Approving the checklist to file the Bill of Entry in Customs.

Scrutinize the documents & Filing the advance documents in Indian Customs prior to the arrival of the shipment

Handing over the Exchange control Bill of Entry to Finance for the foreign remittance to the supplier.

Maintaining the Exporter copy shipping bill with documents.

Updating the monthly export shipping details to stakeholders

III. Principal Accountabilities

To ensure the logistics deliverable is within the budgeted cost and time.

IV. Requirements

Qualifications – Engineering graduate/Diploma with MBA/Added qualification in export/import / Supply Chain Management with relevant experience is preferred.

Experience

12 years or more of experience (out of at least 10 years managing Global Project Logistics) in global project logistics estimation/ proposals, Execution of Projects including Custom handling, local transportation (ODC / OWC), import and export lesioning in an Industrial Gas Company or with an EPC company

Preferable with working experience in Oil & Gas Company / Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), Industrial Gases or Petrochemicals / Chemicals or Oil & Gas Industries with capital incentive projects having project execution volumes of more than US$ 100 MM.

Working with a multinational company in a matrix setup will be an advantage.

Familiar with operating within an IT tools environment.

This position is based in Vadodara India but will be required to travel within India and occasionally as business needs or projects dictate. Virtual meetings and working outside of own time zone are to be expected in this role.
