Household Manager

Private family looking to hire a Household Manager in McLean, Virginia.

The Ideal Candidate: Manage house including light daily housekeeping, laundry, errands (groceries, cook dinners, post office, car inspections) school pickups and after school driving as needed for 11 year old girl and 15 year old boy until 4/2026 when he gets his license. Must like dogs (we have 3) and horses - mom and daughter are equestrians and applicant should be willing to drive daughter to lessons.

What Works Best for Family: Self motivated, professional, attention to detail - someone who does not need to be micromanaged and told every little thing to do, but who can instead be interested. This person needs experience manage a home and supporting families

Requested Duration: As long as possible - most of our staff are 5 yrs+

Current Staff: Live in au pair; household manager/cook; weekly cleaning crew. Current manager (with us 10 years) just had a second child and cannot work our hours anymore.

Position Responsibilities

Housekeeping: Shared Housekeeping Required

Cooking: Cooking Required

Laundry: Family Laundry

Errands: Dry Cleaners; Post Office,Etc.

Driving: Car Available for Position- or mileage paid

Travel: No Travel Required

Position Requirements

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM- flexible- would like 12:00PM-8:00PM

Languages: English

Experience: Years of Experience

References: Minimum of 2 References

Background: Pass stringent background checks and drug testing upon offer of hire

Position Compensation

Salary: $40-$50 per hour depending on experience
