The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications/resumes for a certified Healthier Us - Project Coordinator (part-time).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic urban, growing organization just 5 miles west of New York City in the water front city of Perth Amboy. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility.

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Community Health Initiatives, the Healthier Us - Project Coordinator (part-time) will be responsible for assisting in educating the community on the various state medical/health insurance options, assisting the community with identifying appropriate health insurance and providing application assistance to anyone wanting to apply for coverage. The Healthier Us Part Time Project Coordinator will also be responsible for attending a minimum of two community outreach events each month and marketing campaigns raising awareness and knowledge of the various options available to the community. Must be flexible, 20 hours per week, early mornings, may include some evenings and weekends.

Requirements:

A. Experience:

Prior public health experience preferred but not required

Willing to be trained and certified by GetCoveredNJ within the first week of employment

Some basic medical insurance knowledge

B. Education/Certification

Associates degree preferred or minimum 2 years’ experience in related field

Valid driver’s license with ability to travel throughout the county

C. Skills:

Bilingual- English/Spanish both oral and written

Must be skilled in Excel and Microsoft Office, including research and analytical skills

D. Interpersonal Skills:

Familiar with the culture and mission of the organization

Must be culturally competent with familiarity of Perth Amboy community and Middlesex County

E. Other

Perth Amboy resident preferred

Must be at least 18 years old

Valid driver’s license with ability to travel throughout the county
