DSP Supervisor Role

The LEAF DSP Supervisor directs the work of the DSP to support and assist Members with developmental disabilities in developing/enhancing basic living and other life skills, promoting independence and individual choice in a Day Training environment.

Supervision of DSP-LEAF work, schedules, and timekeeping approvals.

Responsible for DSP-LEAF schedules to include scheduling vacant shifts and daily call-outs received with PTOC staff first.

Ensure the safe check in of our members and oversee the swipe/in – swipe/out of member cards for daily attendance and correct any errors in the time keeping system as necessary.

Assign staff daily to group/member to ensure we meet ratio requirements; fill in with group or with transportation as necessary.

Ensure member daily schedules and monthly activity calendars are posted and maintained throughout daily operations.

Collect daily outing forms and distribute necessary funds; collect receipts for funds.

Collect transportation log and transportation billing forms monthly or as required.

Ensure staff have the adequate equipment and/or supplies for daily operations.

Communicate any member or staff issue/concern to program management.

Communicate any facilities need to program manager who will contact director of facilities.

Train new staff on group/member ISP/Objective books and update books as necessary.

Drive The Opportunity Tree vehicles as needed.

Requirements:

Minimum of 18 years of age.

Experience: Preferred in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) field.

Arizona driver license with Non-Restricted Motor Vehicle Record and compliance per the requirements of The Opportunity Tree’s insurance carrier.

Able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including internal and external customers, partners, and vendors in English.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Knowledge: Beginner MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, web browsing

Personal enthusiasm for participation in a non-profit organization, which provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Positive attitude and ability to represent The Opportunity Tree effectively in the community. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member with Members, staff, families, funders and stakeholders.

Successfully meet AZ-DPS requirements for Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Reliable transportation and possible travel for The Opportunity Tree business.

Skills to include but not limited to knowledge of principles in staff interaction, task productivity, time management, problem identification and resolution administration.
