Cloud Database Engineer

Job Purpose

RWS is currently seeking a Cloud Database Engineer to join their global organization. As a Database Engineer, your role will involve designing and maintaining databases, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting database issues. We are looking for an analytical and articulate individual to join a busy team providing high-quality technical support for our hosted environments, while continuously applying our working practices through refined processes and automation. The successful candidate will thrive in a challenging environment where they will be required to provide stellar operational database support across different database technologies. Additionally, the candidate will help direct work towards ongoing and future technical projects, migrations, and expansions

About Cloud Operations and Tech Support At RWS our Technical Support and Cloud Operations Teams are a global organization spanning across 13 countries serving a global customer base. Technical Support deliver highly valued support and build trusted relationships with our customers, from individual freelancers to large international corporations and governments. We are constantly investigating and solving technical problems across a wide range of products and technology, with emphasis on prevention and root cause analysis. At the same time, knowledge sharing is crucial, providing our users and colleagues with the latest solutions, answers, and information. From a Cloud Operations perspective we are a team of experienced, high-performance individuals focused on serving our Enterprise customers leveraging our SaaS solutions to power their “Seamless Customer Experience”. Our core focus is on Quality of Service, Customer Experience, Security and Compliance. Both technical and non-technical groups are embedded within the same Cloud Operations unit.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Key Skills : MSSQL DBA, PostgreSQL & MYSQL DBA (any one)

Cloud exposure : AWS

Minimum 2+ years of experience in deploying and managing MSSQL/PostgreSQL/MYSQL databases across various platforms

Minimum 1+ years of experience in AWS/Azure

Skills & Experience

Experience : 3-6 years

Experience in MSSQL/PostgreSQL/MYSQL Database administration

Good technical skills in handling day to day database administration tasks

Experience in database backup restores, migration & upgrades

Knowledge on reading and analysing execution plans and identify bottlenecks

Knowledge on AWS RDS service and hands on experience in handling Aurora RDS would be a plus
