Job Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed network engineer to join our global network team.

Based in Group Technology, in this position you work closely with network engineers, project managers, and other IT professionals to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure.

IT Services establishes common standards and IT governance across the business. It further develops and manages core applications enabling smooth operational running of the organisation across all functions. We drive/deliver current and plan future roadmaps aligning to the overall strategic direction of the business. We support over 7500 end users across the globe, manage the information security operation and safeguard all our assets. Our core functions include Technical Architecture, Network & Voice, IT Security, Service Delivery, Solutions Delivery and Asset Management. IT Services has a global presence across all regions with 200+ staff.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Network Engineer at RWS, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

Network design and implementation: Work closely with other members of the Network and Security Team to implement and deploy network infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams:

Work closely with other IT professionals as part of dedicated project teams to understand and interpret business requirements.

Collaborate with project managers to meet project milestones and deadlines while ensuring the seamless integration of network systems.

Network maintenance and troubleshooting: Work closely with the Service Delivery Team to perform regular maintenance tasks and help troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Travel: International travel will be required for this role.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.

Experience working within a global enterprise organisation.

Experience with network security, including LAN, WLAN, SDWAN, VPNs, and Security.

Previous experience working on greenfield and brownfield deployments.

Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent are a plus.

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse and resolve complex network issues.

Demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges and uncertainties, maintaining a solution-orientated approach to problem-solving.

Ability to understand and capture business requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven self-starter working well with minimal supervision.

Education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred: VLAN, Cisco Catalyst, Spanning Tree, VRF, Routing, Meraki.

Nice to have: Check Point, SDWAN, AWS/Azure networking, Infrastructure (VMWare/Hyper-V), Linux.
