Job Purpose

The role of Senior Localization Project Manager is to manage all assigned projects in the most efficient manner possible in order to ensure client retention, satisfaction and ultimately repeat revenue growth.

As the main point of contact for their clients, the ideal candidate must proactively use effective written and verbal communication to ensure that project teams understand the scope, complexity and expectations, and that the clients are kept fully informed as to the progress, position and financial status of their projects. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager needs to manage and motivate the extended project team, ensuring actions are clearly delegated and that resource/quality issues are escalated in a timely fashion to the departmental managers and Program Manager.

About The Strategic Solutions Group (SSG)

The Strategic Solutions Group, part of RWS’s Language Services division, works closely with major accounts and clients of all sizes who are going global with specialized localization services. These services cover the entire localization spectrum, from translating content, media, and audio to creating engaging eLearning programs and transcribing highly impactful marketing campaigns. The SSG works closely with RWS’s Language eXperience Delivery (LXD) platform, which includes 2,000 in-house linguists, and a network of more than 29,000 translators, who use RWS’s proprietary machine translation, AI, and translation productivity tools, to deliver a 24/7 service to clients.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Delivery of projects to client’s expectations achieving targeted levels of profitability.

Compiling estimates and proposals for approval.

Close financial monitoring and control of projects through budgets, invoicing and change orders to ensure timely and final invoicing.

Strategic project planning involving best methodologies, processes, and risk assessments.

Accurate documentation and filing of all project related materials.

Identification and development of project/process improvement opportunities and escalating to Program Manager.

Hosting regular, documented verbal and written communications with clients, Network Offices and internal team members.

Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors and works complex problems through to resolution

Internal and customer involved initiatives to drive localization maturity, process improvement or business strategy forward

Potential to monitor and mentor of more junior team members

Able to work independently yet also maintain global team communication and collaboration

Skills & Experience

Degree in either Localization, project management, a business related area or equivalent work experience

Typically requires 8+ years of localization project management experience

3+ years of budget management experience

Experience growing accounts

Good written/verbal communication and presentation skills

Client-facing experience (managing calls, supporting topical discussions, etc).

Proactive mindset

Ambitious and with a desire to learn and progress

Analytical and organized problem solving abilities
