BI and data product analyst (FP&A)

Job Purpose

As a BI and data product analyst (FP&A), you will play a crucial role in the Group FP&A’s drive to maximise profitability. Your technical/systems skills, inquisitive mindset and analytical acumen will contribute to the precision and efficacy of financial decision-making within the organisation.

You will report into and work closely with the Director of Group data and analytics to deliver analysis, insights and recommendations that lead to improved performance and profitable growth.

In joining RWS’s Finance team you will be a critical part of supporting a listed world-leading provider of technology-enabled language, content, and intellectual property services. RWS has growing revenues of over £750m through a combination of value accretive acquisitions and organic growth. Group finance, led by our Group CFO; Candy Davies, includes diverse teams across the globe operating in functions including business partnering, operational finance, specialist, and group functions. Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Working with the wider data and analytics team to source data and land into analytics warehouse.

Identify, analyse, and interpret data trends or patterns in detailed complex data sets - provide insightful profitability and cost management reports – across customers, projects, geographies, etc. to support growth and efficiency initiatives

Support accuracy & integrity of data source, analysis and reporting, working closely with FP&A and Business Intelligence

Skills & Experience

Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational data models as well as knowledge in business analysis, analysing large data sets and information management

Advanced command of Excel, familiarity with SQL and BI software (ideally Sisense or similar)

Analytical aptitude and interest in interrogating data to develop hypotheses and insights in mathematics, statistics, economics or other data-intensive fields

Strong problem-solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts and determining and implementing effective solutions

Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation

Experience in data modelling, and simplifying complex data into compelling, clear, and actionable insights using Excel and reporting tools desirable

Proactive and forward thinking

Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team

Strong presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, simple way, both written and verbally
