Description:

Be a personal companion to clients and act as a supportive Mend serving their needs and working to build their independence.

Encourage and foster individuals' preferred goals, hobbies and interests.

Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals' many daily living needs, including but not limited to nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, and socialization skills.

Help individuals to bathe, groom and dress, eat and drink, if necessary, always working to ' improv self-reliance

Help set individual goals and work client progress, noting any domestic changes, reporting to superiors.

Make phone calls and drive clients to medical appointments, meetings, events, etc.

Ensure client have their prescribed medication and coordinate with supervisor.

Encourage individual skill development and work towards community integration.

Develop meaningful relationships and connections with clients to make "them feel cared for and included in the community.

Follow all health and safety protocol.

Help clean, tidy home for the individuals.

Attend education courses, training and get certificates as the job requires.

Be compassionate, patient and encouraging support professional at all times.Requirements:

High school diploma/GED required.

2+ years' experience providing direct care to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Valid California driver's license

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills ·

Compassionate about the care and well-being of others

Must have a reliable transportation.

Clean DMV driving record.

Valid car insurance

Must be 18 years or older and have a clear criminal history.

Other qualification

Valid CPR/First Aid certification (required before working with a client)

Pro Act technique training within thirty days of hire

This is a part-time or hill-time, hourly position. Hours are flexible.
