The Global Data Analytics Director is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing the company’s data and analytics strategies, culture, tools, and team in alignment with the overall IT and business strategy providing data-driven insights to accelerate the achievement of business goals. This role, which reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), will hire additional team members to create the Data Analytics team. Key responsibilities include the oversight of the enterprise analytics and business intelligence operations ensuring data availability, collection, standardization, integration, innovation, and governance.

This role will provide actionable data and insights to support business objectives and is involved in many cross discipline and strategic initiatives. This role must be a change agent, self-motivated, hands-on, have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, while being detail oriented and provide business support in compliance with existing IT service level agreements.

Research and introduce innovative technology to accelerate the company’s value creation process.

Enhance and maintain a global support operating model to assure business continuity and high availability of critical analytics and data platforms managing and responding to support requests according to the defined SLAs.

Recruit, lead, develop, train, empower, mentor, communicate, and provide meaningful feedback to data analytics, architect and team members for high performance, quality results and excellence.

Manage vendor relationships, services, contracts, renewals, and pricing negotiations.

Collaborate, support, and execute M&A activities including due diligence, integrations, divestiture, documentation, design, implementations, and architecture of the applications environment.

Travel to key operations sites as required to understand business needs, address IT challenges or build/strengthen team.

Build the long-term strategy and roadmaps of the technologies under their responsibility, including analytics, data warehouse, data fabric, PowerBI, data collection, mining and integration for SQL and Oracle SQL, artificial intelligence and machine learning based on products direction, market trend, and business needs.

Drive data governance initiatives by establishing data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, and implementing data security measures.

Foster a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization, promoting the use of analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Effectively communicate and provide recommendation of complex analytical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders helping them make informed decisions and drive business growth.

Collaborate and partner with other IT teams to ensure data infrastructure, systems, and tools are optimized and aligned to support efficient data collection, storage, and analysis.

Execute under the agile framework, assign resources, milestones to projects and initiatives planned for the year communicating effectively within IT, stakeholders and executive as needed.

Maintain the analytics and data platforms in current versions leading upgrades and proposing consolidation where possible.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science. A master’s degree is preferred

5+ years of experience working and leading analytics or business intelligence teams in a global environment overseeing large scale information technology projects.

Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing analytics strategies in a corporate environment.

Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.

Ability to understand business requirements converting them into technical solutions to satisfy the user’s needs.

Strong experience implementing Agile framework into the software development lifecycle.

Experience in building data and analytics areas for the ground up including team hiring, tools selection and implementation.

Technology/Equipment:

A strong working knowledge of analytics platforms including Data Fabric/Data Warehousing technologies, ETL tools like Alteryx, SQL, Oracle SQL and Visualization tools like PowerBI is required. Certification in relevant analytics tools or methodologies is a plus.
