Psychologist - Autism (Westerville)

The CASD Complex Behavior Program (CBP) Psychologist supervises the provision of treatment services for patients with ASD/IDD and severe problem behavior. The CBP Psychologist will work under the supervision of the CBP Psychology Supervisor in the provision of clinical services, training of staff, completing administrative functions, developing relationships in the community, and contributing to the growth of the CASD provision of care. The Psychologist will be integral to the implementation of a significant growth plan for CBP treatment services, according to the CASD 5-year strategic plan.

Responsibilities

• Supervise team of Senior Clinicians that provide treatment services by training, educating, and conducting supervision or staff meetings and evaluations.• Assist in the development of Complex Behavior Program services, clinical standards, and community partnerships.• Assess client’s maladaptive and disruptive behaviors using a range of functional analysis methodologies and other evidence-based, behavior analytic strategies.• Design and monitor detailed treatment protocols for both behavior reduction and skill building in conjunction with Senior Clinicians, including caregiver training. Ensure treatment protocols meet all ethical and procedural standards.• Provide appropriate care to families by using a family-centered care model, addressing biopsychosocial barriers to treatment, and using culturally mindful practices. Serve as a member of child’s IEP team, an advocate for parent, and a liaison to other service providers and funding agencies. Coordinate with NCH partners.• Implement administrative functions of CBP Treatment Programs and other factors of operations. Submit or supervise submission of prior authorizations, behavioral assessments, and behavior analytic treatment plans.Note: Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance is an essential job function. Qualifications

Education Requirement:Doctoral degree in PsychologyLicensure Requirement:State of Ohio psychology licenseCertifications:• Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA-D/BCBA)• Eligible for Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) certification• The ability to qualify for Medical Staff at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.Skills:• Clinical expertise in the treatment of complex problem behaviors in patients with autism and developmental disabilities.• Inclusive and culturally sensitive approach to leadership and supervision.• Able to maintain a variety of internal and external contacts, and to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other Nationwide Children’s Hospital personnel.• Collaboration towards shared visions and goals, problem solve flexibly and creatively.• Evidence of support of hospital and community physicians, faculty, and staff.• Independent, self-directed, and able to manage schedule in accordance with clinical standards; and to work effectively on a team, as both a team member and team leader.Experience:• Experience in applied research is highly desirable.• Significant experience in applied behavior analysis, functional analyses and functional behavior assessments, behavior plan development, behavior consultation, school-age behavioral intervention, school consultation, crisis intervention, safety training, and parent training, required.
