Position: Lead Application Support Engineer

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Location: Coppell, TX (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

Lead Major Incident calls to resolve critical production issues, coordinate with relevant teams, and conduct root cause analysis.

Troubleshoot and debug system components to address technical issues in complex, regulated environments encompassing ground and cloud applications.

Analyze proposed application designs, identify potential gaps, and offer optimization recommendations.

Participate in Monthly Service Reviews (MSR) with Development partners to review KPI metrics.

Contribute to Disaster Recovery/Loss of Region events, performing tasks and gathering evidence as needed.

Collaborate within and across teams to resolve application issues promptly and effectively.

Support audit requests by providing necessary documentation and evidence in a timely manner.

Plan and execute certificate creation/renewals as required.

Develop, modify, and monitor Dashboards for improved issue detection and observability.

Validate team analysis and implement necessary changes to prevent incident recurrence.

Resolve Critical application alerts promptly, including production defects, and provide business impact analysis.

Update knowledge articles and runbooks in collaboration with application development teams to ensure accuracy and relevance.

Validate and submit responses to ongoing audit requests for information.

Review and implement Disaster Recovery scripts during planned and unplanned outages, providing BCM evidence.

Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline application monitoring processes.

Partner with development teams to provide insights during design and development phases of applications.

Implement pre-production/production application code deployment plans and vendor application upgrade processes.

Integrate risk and control processes into daily responsibilities to supervise and mitigate risks, escalating issues appropriately.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Hands-on experience with Unix, Linux, Windows, SQL/PLSQL.

Familiarity with relational databases such as DB2, Oracle, Snowflake.

Experience with Monitoring and Data Tools like Splunk, DynaTrace, Grafana, etc.

Knowledge of Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Azure, OpenShift, etc.

Proficiency in Scheduling Tools like CA AutoSys, Control-M.

Middleware experience with Solace, Tomcat, WebSphere, etc.

Familiarity with Messaging Queue Systems such as IBM MQ, Oracle AQ, Kafka, etc.

Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, Ruby, etc.

Experience with ETL tools like Informatica Datahub/IDQ, Talend.

Mainframe troubleshooting and support skills including COBOL, JCL, DB2, etc.

Familiarity with ITIL Change, Incident, and Problem management processes.

Hands-on experience with Monitoring and Alerting processes in Distributed, Cloud, and Mainframe environments.
