The candidate will work closely with the Director of Process Chemistry (40+ year industry veteran) and the Chemical Process Development (CPD) team cross-functionally supporting R&D, analytical, kilo-lab, and production ops.
Key Responsibilities
Participate as a member of the Chemical Process Development (CPD) team, supporting experimental research, optimization, and scale-up of complex, multi-step, small molecule synthesis
Independently preform bench scale experimentation for CPD team (gram scale); support execution of kilogram demonstration batches
Independently manage and conduct HPLC analysis to support on-going research (Agilent ChemStation; Shimazu Empower)
Conduct and interpret ad hoc analytical: LC/MS; HPLC; Karl Fischer, Specific Rotation

Kilo-labs: 3 suites including (20/50/100L reactors/extractors, prep-chromatography system and Biotage flash system, hydrogenators 300mL-20L; 5/20/50L rotoevaporators)
Qualifications/Demonstrated Capabilities
MS or PhD Candidate (or recent Graduate) in Organic Chemistry; 0-3 years’ experience in industry
BS with relevant experience may be considered in a related support role
Proficiency in wet-chemistry lab experimentation, research and experimental methodologies for organic synthesis
Proficiency in analytical chemistry, data interpretation, and working knowledge of method development; NMR, IR, UV, HPLC/LC/MS
Understanding of best practices for EHS and chemical hygiene
