Our team builds and runs a full-code developer platform used by thousands of developers throughout BASF. We centralize and standardizes the tools, resources, and processes that developers need to build, test, and deploy applications. We make it easier for developers to collaborate and share code while saving them time and effort. Our platform also focuses on ensuring that applications are built and deployed in a consistent and secure manner. It helps enforce coding standards and best practices and provide tools for tracking and auditing changes to applications.

As part of an agile team, you will closely collaborate with other global team members to expand and operate our developer platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Shape and impact how software is being created, built, and operated at BASF, both for seasoned software engineers as well as citizen developers:

You are set on creating the best possible developer experience at BASF.

You are responsible to expand and operate a full-code developer platform for thousands of developers together with the team.

You recognize integration and automation potential and implement it with the support and guidance of the team.

You foster and support the global developer community throughout the whole of BASF.

You are an excellent & effective communicator.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in (business) informatics or comparable technical education in the field of computer science.

Working Experience: Working experience in software engineering

Technical & Professional Knowledge

You are capable and willing to constantly learn

You know how to challenge a team and express your vision, you also appreciate being challenged

You have some experience in working with different programming languages, preferably with Python or JavaScript

You feel comfortable consuming and creating REST interfaces

You speak git and have some affinity with Docker & Kubernetes

You are well experienced working with CI/CD pipelining tools

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with GitHub is beneficial

Experience with infrastructure-as-code is beneficial (Ansible, Terraform)

Experience with FastAPI is beneficial

Experience with creating and maintaining python libraries is beneficial
