IT Systems Administrator (Baltimore, MD market)

Summary:

You will be responsible for enhancing the quality of IT products and services, analyzing data to inform business decisions, and finding technological solutions to business needs, among other duties.

The successful applicant will liaise between the IT department [Business Development and Construction Services Departments] and the executive branch, acting as both a technology and business expert to develop strategies that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of company operations. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in training and development, ensuring users are proficient with new and existing technologies.

Responsibilities:

Support enterprise applications and critical business systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Establish and maintain operating procedures for system administration tasks, including backup and recovery processes.

Manage user accounts and access permissions for employees, ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.

Conduct requirements analysis to understand user needs and recommend appropriate solutions.

Perform user acceptance testing to validate system functionality and identify any issues or discrepancies.

Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, working closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve problems in a timely manner.

Develop and maintain training sessions for employees on business applications and systems, including documentation and instructional materials.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements, upgrades, and patches.

Monitor system performance and capacity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing proactive measures.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to system administration and data security.

Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in system administration, recommending relevant updates or changes as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;relevant certifications preferred.

Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in supporting enterprise applications and business systems.

Strong understanding of operating systems, database management, and network infrastructure.

Proficiency in troubleshooting software and hardware issues, with the ability to diagnose problems and implement solutions.

Experience with user account management, access control, and security protocols.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with users at all levels of the organization.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Experience developing and delivering training sessions or instructional materials preferred.

Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
