Job Summary:

Provides technical support, supervision, decision making, and assistance in expediting needs for the department director and managerial staff. Collects and updates demographic data for clients requesting Cherokee Nation Photo ID's. Photographs clients and captures signatures required to produce a Cherokee Nation Photo ID. Verifies information in Registration database for accuracy and completeness. Scans ancestry (CDIB) information and attaches to clients record in the Registration database. Builds graphical ancestry chart in the Registration database based on clients CDIB. Responsible for troubleshooting and correcting issues with printers, computers, cameras, network devices, and other hardware.

Job Duties:

Assists with technical support, supervision, decision making, and expediting needs of department director and managerial staff. Interviews applicants for vacant positions. Prepares, processes, and tracks Employee Action Notices. Provides training as needed. Establishes goals for assigned personnel. Prepares time sheets for payroll. Delivers support to end users in the Registration Department. Troubleshoots applications and software for Registration Department. Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level within the Registration Department according to the standard set by Information Technology, including installing and upgrading software and hardware. Communicates application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including Registration management, Information Technology, development teams, and Registration end users. Tests fixes and performs post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved. Assists Information Technology in maintaining a secure environment while enhancing the performance of all new and existing software and application within the Registration Department Ensures data is entered accurately and completely and verifies all data necessary to produce a Photo ID is present. if data is missing or questionable, locate necessary backup documents such as 8x10's or Citizenship folders to verify and/or update data in accordance with established procedures. Captures photos and signatures and prints Cherokee Nation Photo ID's. Validates information printed on card is accurate and complete. Ensures the quality of the printed Photo ID complies with departmental standards. Scans CDIB (Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood) and attaches scanned document to client's record in the Registration database. Builds a graphical representation (family tree) of the clients ancestry based on their CDIB in the Registration database. Must be able to travel throughout the 14 county jurisdictional areas as part of the Photo ID team delivering Photo ID's to Cherokee citizens on site. Assists in loading, unloading, setup, and tear down of Photo ID equipment at community and at-large events. Troubleshoots issues with Photo ID equipment including, printers, laptop computers, cameras, and networking equipment. Ensures that Photo ID supplies inventory is maintained at appropriate levels to satisfy demand for Photo ID's produced in-house and at community and at-large events. Files records in accordance with established procedures and filing systems. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 5 to 20 employees in Registration. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management, Information Systems; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

An additional three (3) years of experience is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

An individual should have knowledge of Database software, Development software, Internet software, Payroll systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Certifications in Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL, or Microsoft SharePoint are preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Airline travel is required.
