Associate Accounting Coordinator (Refined Products Accounting)

Valero is looking for an Associate Accounting Coordinator to join the team at the Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. Under immediate supervision, this position processes less complex accounts receivable, accounts payable, and related transactions in SAP according to established policies and procedures. This position also coordinates with external and internal customers to ensure all assigned transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner for cash collections, payment, and accounting close purposes. This role:

Records journal entries, performs reconciliations, and makes adjustments and/or corrections as necessary.

Processes wholesale refined product purchases and sales for timely payment.

Coordinates and works with internal customers, external customers, and vendors to ensure proper recording/classification of transactions, verify accuracy of pricing and volumes, and review and ensure compliance with customer and vendor contracts and deal sheet terms.

Performs month-end closing duties to ensure accurate financial reporting (e.g., review accounts receivable/payable, reporting, etc.).

Reviews EMTS workbench and pending report for vendors.

Assists with special projects for management or other operational areas as needed.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio Headquarters, required.

High school diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's or higher level degree in Accounting preferred.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
