Senior Copywriter- Beauty

We are looking for a Senior Copywriter- Beauty for a top fashion company in New York City. The Senior Copywriter is responsible for writing and developing product and packaging copy for the brand's Beauty Mist, Lip, Natural Beauty, gifting, and Body Care categories, with an emphasis on branding and benefits language. The Senior Copywriter will have a comprehensive understanding of the target customer, the brand, and be passionate about the beauty world.

Responsibilities:

Develop and own brand-right product and packaging copy for an evolving the Mist, Lip, Natural Beauty, gifting, and body care categories and their adjacent assortments

Creatively convert perception and claims testing into meaningful copy; deliver nuanced language across packaging, romance, positioning, and PDP

Partner with merchant and product innovation team to understand business point of view; advance and maintain category tone, brand codes, and style guide

Work with regulatory, legal, and safety teams to secure clearances for product naming, benefit and packaging claims, art-copy lockups, and directions for use

Collaborate with design team to establish an intentional balance of art and copy that creatively addresses and fulfills evolving product briefs

Present and provide clear and concise product copy that informs and inspires marketing initiatives, gifting assortments, and additional storytelling levers

Proof artwork releases with great attention to accuracy and detail

Support brand voice partners by proofing email, site, and social copy as needed

Track copy trends throughout beauty and self-care markets and within culture; serve as language expert and present patterns to teams

Conduct regular store visits to ensure familiarity with the business and to maintain customer intimacy

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Communications/Marketing or equivalent field

5+ years’ experience in body care, skin care, cosmetics, or similar category where claims language is regulated; beauty experience is a plus

Ability to translate benefits into clear product stories; brand-building is a plus

Strong collaboration and teamwork orientation; ability to work cross-functionally with other internal departments toward the development of successful launches

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness

Ability to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment

Open-minded, flexible, patient and team-focused
