Two-year Postdoc Position at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus

This position is funded by SSHRC and UBC Cluster of Research Excellence Eminence Program.

Scope of work:

The postdoc fellow is expected to get involved in the research project – literature reviews; collecting archival data; conducting interviews with Indigenous leaders, elders, knowledge keepers in Indigenous communities; analyzing and interpreting data; and writing research and practice papers. You will be working under the guidance of Dr. Grace Fan (Faculty of Management at UBC Okanagan campus). You will have opportunity to interact with faculty members specializing in organization theory, anthropology, and Indigenous Studies, and partners from Indigenous communities in Canada and worldwide (Indigenous leaders, elders, knowledge keepers and youth leaders).

Expectations:

A Ph.D. degree in organization theory, management, environmental sustainability, Indigenous studies, and/or relevant disciplines

Expertise in qualitative research methodology (data collection and analysis)

Solid research potential demonstrated by the ability to publish in high impact peer-reviewed journals

Ability to work independently while participating collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team

Critical thinking

Excellent proven relationship-building skills as the project involves working directly with Indigenous communities

Training in Indigenous scholarship and/or frameworks (e.g. Two-Eyed Seeing, peoplehood, ethical space, etc.) highly desirable

Salary: $50k per annum (two-year full time)
