Sr Manager of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting

We're excited to present an opportunity for a Technical Accounting Senior Manager position within our client's Finance & Accounting Team. Our client is a global advisory firm known for its expertise in navigating complex challenges and shaping the future. This particular role is focused in Technical Accounting for ASCs 606, 718 805, 842, and 420.

Position: Technical Accounting Senior Manager

Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)

Reporting to: Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting

Responsibilities:

Lead technical accounting review of complex transactions and provide guidance to company leaders.

Analyze unique transactions and prepare technical accounting memos to ensure proper accounting and disclosure.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide guidance on contracts, revenue recognition, and mergers and acquisitions.

Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting standards and lead implementations as applicable.

Take the lead on specific initiatives such as purchase accounting, lease accounting, and segment reporting.

Interact with external auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audits.

Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures.

Support SOX compliance related to technical accounting processes.

Contribute to various special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements:

8+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting roles.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

CPA Certification required.

Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASCs 606, 805, 842, 420, and 718.

Proven ability to identify, research, and resolve complex accounting issues.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Familiarity with Active Disclosure, Hyperion (HFM), Costpoint, and Cognos is a plus.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

Ability to meet business-critical deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $150k - $200k
