Job Title: Education Systems Program Specialist

Reports To: Director of Education Operations

New/Replacement Position: Replacement

Location: Remote

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $28.80 - $34.55 per hour

$56,162 - $67,380 (annual)

Position Summary

The Education Systems Program Specialist oversees the education technology, database systems, and user experience for NRPA’s professional development projects, focusing primarily on NRPA’s Annual Conference Education program. This position requires a blend of technical skills and project management abilities. This highly collaborative role ensures consistency, connectivity, and quality across all professional development systems and supports users through high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Conference Education Management (60%)

Maintains the NRPA Annual Conference education session submission portal (via OpenWater), including ongoing updates, contract management, annual evaluation, and general system upkeep throughout annual conference planning process.

Leads administration and SOPs for Conference education session solicitation, submission, review, scheduling, speaker management, and on-site education activities.

Collaborates with the Conference Team to schedule all learning-related Conference events, including Education Sessions, Off-Site Institutes, Pre-Conference Workshops, and more.

Customer Service and Relationship Management (20%)

Delivers high-quality customer service to internal and external users of NRPA’s education systems by ensuring a timely response (24-48 hours).

Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with various NRPA member committees, including the Conference Program Committee

Coordinates marketing & communication efforts, including writing product copy, marketing e-blasts, and UX guides in collaboration with NRPA staff.

Department Development & Administration (20%)

Collaboratively implements improvements and facilitates troubleshooting between NRPA’s vital systems and databases and works with IT department to streamline customer and staff UX.

Supports Learning Management System updates and system upkeep.

Maps user experience in education systems to identify opportunities for improvement and synergy between platforms.

Collaborates with the Professional Development Team to source, pilot, test, and implement innovative digital media, Online Learning Events, and in-person learning.

Supports Equity in Practice, Directors School, and Partner School applications and data management processes.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Typically requires a minimum of 2-6 years in related field; 2-4 years position specific experience (project management, association management, planning, database management, education, learning, professional development, or equivalent preferred); Association or P&R experience preferred.

Demonstrated commitment and successful track record in maintaining databases and data management.

Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling, and managing programming for large-scale on-site and/or virtual education events.

Intermediate to Advanced literacy and experience with Microsoft Office tools, learning management systems, database systems, and video editing software.

Strong time management skills and excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Success in delivering high-quality internal and external customer support in a team-based work setting.

Ability to effectively handle tasking and deadlines for multiple overlapping calendared programs.

Resourcefulness, initiative, and creativity highly valued.

Travel 10-15 days per year.Requirements:
