Description:

To work as part of a team and be responsible for inspecting, repairing and testing all electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies to the highest quality standards, whilst maintaining full and accurate records of all work completed.

Qualifications

The ideal applicant will come with an Electronics background preferably a degree level with advanced soldering abilities on SMD printed circuit boards.

A good understanding of repairing all types of audio visual equipment within a warehouse environment is preferable.

Excellent diagnostic and fault finding skills

The role requires skill in using unleaded solder.

Able to solder fine pitch integrated circuits.

Able to fault-find and repair PCBs to component level without the use of automated test equipment.

Experienced in repairing SMPS, ballasts and complex digital boards.

Computer literate in Windows applications.

Methodical and keen to learn within the department and willing to keep others informed and updated.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Able to prioritise daily work load.

Ability to work in a team or on your own initiative within strict time constraints.

Be self-motivated and positive.

Ability to understand and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Rules.

Ability to follow and undertake safe lifting practices as instructed.

Prepared to work additional hours when necessary.

Positive attitude to extra duties and new challenges.

Reliable with a good timekeeping record.

Responsibilities

Discuss and liaise with colleagues regarding the workload in line with incoming repair orders to ensure that deadlines are met as directed by the Head of Department.

Fault finding and component level repair of electronic sub-assemblies, to include Control PCB’s (utilizing Fine Pitch Surface Mount Technology), Low Voltage Supplies, Magnetic Ballasts and Switch Mode Power Supplies (Utilizing Surface Mount Technology).

Repairing mechanical sub-assemblies ensuring a methodical approach is maintained which provides consistent results.

Maintain the highest level of operational and technical expertise regarding sales/rental products ensuring that equipment is repaired, upgraded and retrofitted to the highest standards to maintain brand quality.

Use schematics and service manuals effectively to repair items efficiently.

Ensure that complete and accurate records are maintained of all items in service following service checklists and ensuring to add any information which may be useful in the future.

Assist department technicians with service requests and technical support.

Ensure workshop tools, equipment and parts storage are well maintained and the Head of Department is kept informed of stock shortages.

Undertake repair activities at other locations if required in planned or emergency situations.

Perform electrical safety checks on equipment on a regular basis.

Keep up to date with the latest fixtures and technology.

Ensure that the department is kept clean and tidy and to avoid Health and Safety risks.

Ensure that the Company’s policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties.
