Cloud Operations Engineer

Full time (35 Hours per week)

London – Hybrid

Purpose

The Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining IT infrastructure systems and services across Just’s private data centre and hybrid cloud environments.

They will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations within the cloud operations team, whilst working on new project initiatives and technology solutions.

Working alongside the rest of the team in an agile fashion, planning task and projects against business as usual activities, utilizing Azure DevOps boards for backlog items, features and sprint planning

Job role accountabilities

Act as level 3 escalation for systems and services under the cloud operations team

Manage and maintain IT infrastructure systems, and services across Just’s private data centre and hybrid cloud

Work with product owners, architects and technology teams to design, implement and deliver technology solutions

Proactively monitor and respond to service health alerts across the infrastructure systems and services platforms

Identify process optimisation opportunities and contribute to and support the implementation of proposed solutions

Available to be part of a 24/7 on-call support rota

Create, manage and maintain excellent working relationship with stakeholders across the businesses

Maintain and manage relationships with vendor and technology partners

Promote a ‘One Team’ ethos with effective collaboration between colleagues and key stakeholders

Champion Agile best-practices, processes, and tools in support of service processes

About you

The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with Microsoft technologies, Office 365 services, Azure services and in scripting and automation.

They will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, proactively managing their own projects and tasks, confident collaborating with peers and responsible for identifying opportunities for improvements across our systems and processes

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Highly proficient with Office 365 platform management; Office 365 Qualifications desirable

Experienced with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Exchange Online

Modern device management & BYOD

On-premise and cloud VDI solutions such as Azure Virtual Desktop Windows 365

Exchange server on-premises and Exchange server online

Managing on-premises platforms for patching, software packaging and deployments

Scripting and automating with Azure PowerShell and Power Automate

Terraform for managing Infrastructure-as-code

Serverless, containerization and orchestration services

CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps

Experienced with configuring and administering monitoring platforms

Microsoft Windows Server and associated roles such as Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, ADFS, Security, PKI, DNS, DHCP, etc

Good understanding of networking, load balancing, clustering and firewalls

Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment

Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with an ability to extract, translate and communicate meaningful information at all levels

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
