About the role…

FOCO is looking to bring on a dedicated Payroll & Benefits Administrator to manage our day-to-day payroll and benefits functions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service to our employees. This role involves the handling of full-cycle payroll processing for multi-state entities, managing various payroll-related tasks, and actively participating in special projects.

What you’ll do…

Payroll Processing: Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll, including leave of absence payments, retroactive payments, commissions, bonuses, new hires, and terminations while adhering to government regulations.

Data Validation: Review and validate changes to ensure accurate transfer of payroll data and coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems to ensure seamless processing. Including the reconciliation of hourly employee’s timecards.

Timely Payroll Issuance: Ensure timely issuance of payroll and address employee inquiries related to payroll promptly.

Compliance & Reporting: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and SOX compliance. Perform monthly payroll accounting close tasks, handle payroll tax audits, and generate necessary reports for finance, HR, and external vendors. Ensuring compliance and staying up to date on federal, state, and local labor laws to make sure we're always one step ahead.

Benefits Support: Partner with our benefits provider to support our employees with benefits inquiries and leaves in ADP Workforce Now. Point of contact for running monthly and quarterly benefits reporting and invoices.

Record Maintenance: Maintain payroll employment records, including benefit deductions, sick leave, vacation pay, 401(k) contributions, and nontaxable wages.

Collaboration: Work closely with HR and Accounting departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data and contribute to month-end payroll journal entries and account reconciliations

Problem Solving: Demonstrate the ability to research and independently resolve payroll issues, staying updated on federal and multi-state regulations, pre-tax deductions, and wage garnishment procedures.

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our employee population regarding pay, system access, direct deposit, and other payroll-related inquiries.

Special Projects: Participate in special implementation projects as needed, contributing your expertise and problem-solving skills.

Adaptability: Demonstrate solution-driven thinking and the ability to troubleshoot and provide new ideas for change as appropriate

Process improvement: Lead company and department initiatives to drive process improvements within the payroll department and collaborate with key partners throughout the organization to ensure accurate recording of all payroll input

Keep employees up to date regarding any changes in the company’s payroll and benefits structure.

Track employee benefits eligibility, time/attendance, paid time off (Vacation, Sick, and Personal).

Collaborate with the People Team for payroll and benefits escalation.

What you’ll have…

Bachelor’s degree in a related field

2+ years of experience as a Payroll and Benefits Administrator or a similar role

Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now or equivalent, including multi-state payroll and various payment types.

Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll regulations, pre-tax deductions, and wage garnishments

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, (ex: Pivot table, V-look up).

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve payroll issues independently.

Proficiency in using ADP WFN and understanding of modules like HCM, Benefits, Absence and Time Tracking and its impact to employees Payroll.

Previous experience with ADP Smart compliance solution and ADP Workforce Now preferred.

Strong communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.

Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Collaboration skills to work effectively with HR, Accounting, and other departments.

SOX compliance knowledge and experience is a plus

Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus
