Teacher 2 Physical Education

Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, a part of the New Jersey Department of Health, Division Behavioral Health Services, has a full-time opportunity for a Teacher within the Gym area.

The Teacher plans, executes and evaluates Physical Education lessons and educational experiences of the assigned pupils, class, or classes; performing these duties exercising independent judgement and with a comprehensive knowledge of department rules, regulations and policies.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Possession of a valid New Jersey Teacher's Certificate (Standard, Emergency or Provisional Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing or Certificate of Eligibility) or Permanent Endorsement, issued by the Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education, authorizing instruction in subject areas appropriate to the teaching assignment, as determined by the head of a school or district.

NOTE: Teacher 2 is utilized to teach differing student populations and different content areas; therefore, the specific teaching certificate may vary.

NOTE: A valid Orientation and Mobility Instructor Certificate, issued by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Specialists or the National Blindness Certification Board, may be substituted for the educational requirement listed above, within the Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

NOTE: Emergency Certification may be issued only in the fields of teacher of the blind and partially sighted and teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing. Provisional Certification is a temporary one-year certificate issued in disciplines other than those appropriate for Emergency Certification, as previously defined.

SPECIAL NOTE: Ability to physically lift, move, and position students.

LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
