Production Manager Job Description

Office Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers to coordinate construction details for design, permit, and build set drawings.

- Schedule pre-construction meetings with office staff and clients, ensuring alignment on project requirements.

- Develop and maintain job schedules, updating working schedules weekly to reflect progress and changes.

- Attend weekly staff meetings to provide updates on job progress and communicate needs from the design department.

- Review and approve subcontractor proposals, confirming pricing and scope of work.

- Coordinate jobsite inspections with building inspectors, ensuring compliance with regulations.

- Prepare change orders for modifications to construction contracts, including additions or credits.

- Maintain regular communication with the accounting department, providing updates on job billings, change orders, and new projects.

- Approve material vendor and subcontractor invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Review job cost reports bi-weekly to assess profitability and identify areas for improvement.

- Keep the company owner informed of job status and escalate any issues requiring attention.

- Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions for new field employees.

- Conduct sales calls to new or past clients for small projects, including preparing quotes, scheduling work, and submitting billing to the accounting department.

Field Responsibilities:

- Visit jobsites regularly to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.

- Schedule and facilitate regular update meetings at the jobsite with clients and lead carpenter, ensuring alignment on project objectives.

- Manage the carpenters' schedule and update schedule boards weekly to reflect changes.

- Coordinate daily tasks for the company driver, ensuring efficient operations.

- Oversee jobsite safety and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

- Monitor the quality of work performed by carpenters and subcontractors to ensure adherence to company standards.

- Address construction, scheduling, and detail questions with lead carpenters and clients, providing timely resolutions.

- Order materials for projects, including hardware, doors, specialty trim, protection materials, and fixtures, coordinating delivery with suppliers.

- Prepare shop drawings for cabinets, millwork, structural steel, and custom metal works as needed for ordering.

- Respond to warranty calls from past clients, scheduling appropriate labor and ordering materials to resolve issues promptly.

- Address performance and disciplinary issues as needed, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

10+ years in management

$100k- $150, 401k, medical pays up to policy

Vehicle allowance or company vehicle and up to 10% bonus

Full time position splitting time in the field and in the office
